Veteran employees in various departments hold study sessions on “passing on skills”

At JRCS, veteran employees from various departments hold study sessions with the aim of passing on their skills to their junior team members. The content of the sessions vary, ranging from practical knowledge to anecdotal experiences that are applicable and pragmatic.
Especially, participants listened with great interest to episodes related to past challenges and troubleshooting.

A young employee who participated in the Quality Control Section’s study session said:
“I heard that the veteran employee had a heated discussion with a customer in order to protect product quality and ship safety. This is a very courageous action and a source of professional pride. I also felt the spirit of our mission: Never to stop marine transportation. As I experience various things in the future, I would like to emulate the example of my seniors who have been with JRCS for 48 years.”

Also one of the veteran employees from the purchasing department recently spoke about his experience teaching:
“I started these sessions to pass on skills to our younger employees, but I feel that I am the one who has learned and improved my skills the most through these sessions. I realized that what I thought I understood was only half of what was going on, and now I am more aware of where I was lacking knowledge.”

JRCS is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Through our efforts to pass on the baton of knowledge and skills from veterans to juniors, we hope to be a company that never forgets to express our gratitude and respect for the many seniors who have supported us to this point.

As long as I am with the company, I will continue to pass on my skills, says a veteran employee.
