In-house study sessions are held using actual equipment at the Training Center at JRCS Toyoura.
The manufacturing department holds an in-house study session titled “Learning with Actual Equipment” for those who wish to attend.
Originally, “Learning with Actual Equipment” was held for those who were taking the full-time employee acceptance test. Employees who were not taking the test said they would like to listen to the lecture as well, so we decided to open the door to anyone who wanted to participate.
The venue is the training center at JRCS Toyoura in Shimonoseki. This is a training facility for crew members and is equipped with simulators equivalent to those actually on board ships. In-house study sessions are held to operate this actual equipment and learn what role each piece of equipment plays in the ship.
Although employees in the manufacturing department are professionals in assembly and wiring, they rarely have the opportunity to operate actual equipment that has been energized. A participant commented, “I now understand the role of the product I am making on the ship. I think I will have a greater sense of accomplishment when I have finished making the product in the future”.
The number of participants who wish to take the “Learning with Actual Equipment” workshop is increasing, as it can be completed in one session and condensed into a two-hour class. The number of participants has grown significantly, with nearly 40 people participating so far. JRCS will continue to provide various learning opportunities in response to employee initiative.
The first 30 minutes is a classroom lecture to review product knowledge and basic electricity.
