Childline Shimonoseki, supported by JRCS,
held listening courses for adults!

A seminar was held at the Shimonoseki Kankyo Mirai Kan to develop the ability to listen to children’s voices.

The seminar was organized by Childline Shimonoseki, a free telephone support service for children up to the age of 18. The seminar featured a lecture by clinical psychologist Nobuko Takeda on the current major social problem of “educational abuse” (forcing children to be educated beyond the limit of what they can bear physically and mentally).
Around 100 people, including school teachers, nursery school teachers, doctors and parents with children, gathered at the venue to learn the importance of listening to children’s stories with interest and without denying them.

This seminar is held throughout the year in order to train volunteers to take Childline calls.
Upcoming seminars will focus on children and the media, children out of school and communication with children.

Since 2023, JRCS has been supporting the activities of the Childline Shimonoseki as the philosophy of Childline, which is to “listen to the voice of the child”, is the same as the “listening” that JRCS values as part of its corporate culture.
JRCS will continue to support this activity in the future and create a society where children can live easily and enjoy learning.
