JRCS sponsored Yamaguchi Prefecture’s SDG picture book completed!
Yamaguchi Asahi Broadcasting (yab) produced a children’s picture book, “Mou nokosan yo (I won’t leave any more vegetables.)”, to communicate the SDGs to children in an easy-to-understand way. The completed picture books were donated to kindergartens, nursery schools, libraries, children’s centers, child care facilities, and hospitals in Yamaguchi prefecture, and was also delivered to JRCS, one of the sponsors of the project.
The story is about a vegetable-hating character who grows up through adventures.
Yab and Yamaguchi University students collaborated to devise the story, and Hiroyuki Yamafuji, an illustrator living in Yamaguchi Prefecture, was chosen through a public contest to illustrate the book.
The picture book received were donated to the JRCS in-house nursery “Kikuholand”. A nursery staff member read the book to the children, and they listened intently to the storytelling.

The children were surprised by a powerful scene where a ghost of an eggplant, a specialty of Yamaguchi Prefecture, appeared.
