Employee’s Resolution with the theme of “Listening Comprehension” To produce an official mascot character as part of the founding 70th anniversary commemorative project
JRCS Co., Ltd. (1-2-14 Higashiyama-machi, Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, President: Koichiro Kondo) as part of the celebration of its 70th anniversary foundation has produced an original official mascot character.
The concept is “listening comprehension.” Employees of JRCS have pledged to realize the “Just Right Customer Solution”, “Listen to the background and opinions of colleagues, and raise the Team Harmony”.
The creation of a mascot character is in the hope that employees will always be aware of the ability to “comprehensively listen”, creating a corporate culture that positively incorporates various opinions from inside and outside of the company.
The original draft of the design was recruited from within the company, calling upon individuals as well as groups and families resulting in 45 powerful designs being submitted.
A large number of votes was collected from all employees and a strict final examination of the top five was carried out with the viewpoint of “Originality” and Expression of Topic”.
The Grand Prix design was decided and the splendid character of an owl named as “Kikuho” which was drawn by employees of the Production Department was chosen and adopted as the draft of the mascot character.
The next step was to ask one of the prefecture’s premier graphic designers, Mr. Mitsuo Fukunaga, who is also a director of tourism here in Yamaguchi and the creator of the character “Choru-ru” to produce the mascot character.
Combining various elements of the original draft, the completion proved lovely.
From now on the development of goods such as a toy “Kikuho” will be considered in order to stay closeby and listen to the employees’ ability to “listen comprehensively”.
